The Dallas Renegades just can’t seem to find their footing after an undefeated start to the 2026 UFL season.
After falling behind early, the Renegades couldn’t overcome various struggles in a 24-6 loss to the DC Defenders on Saturday at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. DC scored all 24 of its points before halftime.
Renegades quarterback Austin Reed went 22 for 41 through the air for 258 yards, one passing touchdown and an interception. Reed started the season on a hot streak, but has seen his play slow down over the last three weeks.
Dallas couldn’t slow down DC’s passing attack Saturday. Defenders quarterback Jordan Ta’amu completed 71% of his passes, throwing for 227 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Ta’amu threw his first touchdown of the day with 6:24 left in the first quarter, finding Keller Timber Creek product Erik Ezukanma for a 7-yard touchdown connection.
Ta’amu built on his strong start with two passing touchdowns in the second quarter. The Renegades scored their only touchdown in the third quarter, when Reed found Tyler Vaughns for a 14-yard score.
The Renegades now sit at 3-3 on the season, ranking fourth in the UFL standings. The Renegades will look to end their losing streak next Saturday, when they face the Birmingham Stallions on the road.
