Texas A&M baseball avoided a late scare from Auburn to secure the series finale and avoid being swept for the first time in 2026.

Right-hander Weston Moss had a career performance with six strikeouts and just one hit allowed in 6.1 innings on the mound for the Aggies. Meanwhile, second baseman Chris Hacopian, who was slated as a designated hitter in Sunday’s lineup due to an injury, notched all four runs scored. His massive three-run homer gave Texas A&M a commanding 4-0 lead entering the seventh, but the Tigers chipped away at the lead and trailed by just one run with the bases loaded in the top of the ninth.

In relief of Ethan Darden, who entered the contest on the bump to replace Moss, Clayton Freshcorn earned his 11th save of the year, which ranks fifth all-time for most saves in a single season in program history. The Aggies turned a poetic 4-6-3 double play to send Auburn home with a Game 3 loss, after dropping their first SEC series since March 21.

Next up, the Aggies remain at home on Tuesday, as they face Prairie View A&M at Blue Bell Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
