LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Investigators say a teen has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault after a police chase in south Lubbock early Saturday morning.
Police identified the driver of the vehicle as 17-year-old Xavier Alaniz.
Just after midnight officer’s attempted to pull over a vehicle near 82nd Street and Frankford Avenue. However, Alaniz did not stop initiating a pursuit.
Alaniz is accused of speeding off.
The chase ended when Alaniz lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a light pole near 114th Street and Frankford.

Alaniz suffered minor injuries. The front seat passenger also suffered minor injuries.
The two passengers in the backseat suffered moderate injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
