A preliminary investigation by the Special Traffic Investigations Unit found that Randolph was northbound on John Hayes Street when, for unknown reasons lost control and crashed where the street begins to curve, police reported. Police were informed on Tuesday that Randolph had died of his injuries, officials said.

The crash was one of two separate fatal motorcycle accidents that same afternoon of Oct. 23 in El Paso, police said. Yolanda Rainey, 65, of Oklahoma, died when the Harley Davidson motorcycle she was riding crashed into a rock wall while turning from Resler Drive onto High Ridge Drive in the West Side.
