MVPW-03 brings stacked fight card to El Paso County Coliseum

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso is less than a month away from hosting one of its biggest fight nights in recent memory.

Most Valuable Promotions will bring MVPW-03 to the El Paso County Coliseum on Saturday, May 30, featuring a stacked card headlined by a highly anticipated rematch.

In the main event, El Paso native Stephanie Han will defend her WBA lightweight world title against Albuquerque’s Holly Holm. The bout marks the second meeting between Han and the combat sports legend, with Han looking to deliver in front of her hometown crowd.

The co-main event features one of the biggest names in women’s boxing.

Amanda Serrano (48-4-1, 31 KOs), the unified WBA and WBO featherweight world champion, will face Cheyenne Hanson (17-2, 13 KOs) in a 10-round bout contested in three-minute rounds.

The main card also includes other world title fights. Unified middleweight champion Desley Robinson (11-3, 4 KOs) will defend her titles against Canadian challenger Mary Spencer (10-3, 6 KOs) in a 10-round bout at 160 pounds.

Mexico’s WBC junior flyweight champion Lourdes Juarez (39-4, 5 KOs) will also defend her title against Yokasta Valle (34-3, 10 KOs), as Valle looks to capture her seventh world title.

MVPW events feature all-female main cards, with undercards showcasing a mix of men’s and women’s bouts as part of the promotion’s year-round global platform dedicated to women’s boxing.

On Monday, MVP released the preliminary card, which includes 10 bouts featuring a mix of rising prospects and established contenders.

Miranda Reyes (8-3-1, 3 KOs) will face Camilla Panatta (8-3-1, 1 KO) in an eight-round lightweight bout.

Top-ranked contender Yesica Nery Plata (30-3, 3 KOs) takes on Brook Sibrian (9-2, 4 KOs) in an eight-round light flyweight matchup.

Jocelyn Camarillo (6-0, 1 KO) meets Yazmin Martinez (3-3-2, 1 KO) in a six-round bout at 108 pounds, while contender Nazarena Romero (14-1-2, 8 KOs) is also scheduled to appear, with her opponent still to be announced.

On the men’s side, Alexis Chaparro (7-0, 6 KOs) faces Edward Ulloa (15-7, 12 KOs) in an eight-round middleweight bout.

Elise Soto (10-9, 9 KOs) and Iyana Verduzco (7-0, 1 KO) are also set to compete, with opponents to be announced.

Alexander Gueche (11-0, 7 KOs) will take on Joshua Montoya (7-4-2) in a six-round super bantamweight bout.

Additional matchups include Reina Tellez (13-1-1, 5 KOs) and a six-round bout between Albina Moldazhanova (3-0, 3 KOs) and Claudia Herrera (5-6-1, 2 KOs).

MVPW-03 will feature a total of 14 fights, including four world title bouts, making it one of the most loaded fight cards to hit El Paso.

The event will be broadcast on ESPN, beginning at 9 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. MT.
