STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The No. 3 seeded UT Arlington softball team opens play in the Western Athletic Conference Softball Tournament on Wednesday, May 6, facing No. 6 Utah Tech at 6 p.m. CT.
The winner will advance to take on tournament host, Tarleton State on Thursday, May 7 at 1 p.m.
The WAC Tournament will be held at the Tarleton State Softball Complex in Stephenville, Texas, running from Wednesday, May 6 through Saturday, May 9.

UTA NOTES
The Mavericks enter the tournament following a conference sweep (6-4, 6-5, 8-7) to close out the regular season. The sweep was capped by a walk-off home run from Mia McNulty in the bottom of the seventh inning of game three.
Dee McClarity leads the team with 13 multi-hit games and is tied for the longest hitting streak (9). She also leads the WAC in walks with 31.
McNulty ranks second in the WAC with 13 home runs and is tied for second on the team with McClarity (13 multi-hit games). She also owns the second-longest hitting streak on the team (8).
Peyton Holland tied the program record for home runs in UTA’s last regular season series. She leads the WAC with 14 home runs, ranks third in slugging percentage (.702) and leads the team with 13 multi-RBI games. She also tied for the team’s longest hitting streak (9) with McClarity.
As a team, UTA set a new single-season program record with 59 home runs in its last series, surpassing the previous mark of 56 set in 2008.
Holland sits one home run shy of breaking UTA’s single-season individual record.
