Several Corpus Christi schools that are closing at the end of the school year are holding walk-throughs in May to honor the legacy of the campuses.
This spring, the Corpus Christi Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to close Fannin, Kostoryz, Sanders and Travis elementary schools and Browne, Haas and Martin middle schools, citing financial considerations and aging facilities.
Here’s how to attend a school walk-through:
Browne Middle School will welcome the community to walk the halls from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 7.
Haas Middle School will commemorate the closing of the school from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 7.
Martin Middle School invites the community to say goodbye to the school from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 7.
Sanders Elementary School is holding a memorial walk from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 7.
Travis Elementary School will hold a final building viewing from 5 to 6:30 p.m. May 8.
Fannin Elementary School will hold a final building walk-through and Community Eagle Fest event on May 22. The walk-through is scheduled for 4:30-5:30 p.m. The community fest is scheduled for 5-7 p.m.
Kostoryz Elementary School will hold a building tour and festival on May 23. The building tour is scheduled for 2-3 p.m. The festival is scheduled for 3-5 p.m.

Each of the closing campuses has decades of history in Corpus Christi.
Next year, students and staff at the closing campuses will be transferred to neighboring schools. Though no high schools are slated to close, some high school attendance zone boundaries will also be shifted.
