On June 13, 2026, an army of volunteers at the Texas Rangers’ ballpark will attempt to snag a Guinness World Record for “longest line of sandwiches.” Former Fox 4 Good Day anchor Hanna Battah, who left Dallas in late 2025 to take a job with ABC News, will return to North Texas to emcee the event.
In May 2025 in Sydney, Australia, the record was nabbed by bread company Wonder and the nonprofit Eat Up, after a team made 14,520 sandwiches that measured nearly 1.1 miles.
“It’s time to take back our Guinness World Record, and I hope you’ll join!” Battah wrote on Facebook, inviting North Texans to the June 13, 2026 event.
Tango Charities and its team of volunteers would need to make — and display — more than 14,520 sandwiches in just over an hour. The goal is 20,000, said Nick Marino Jr., chief hunger officer of the nonprofit behind the effort.
“Every sandwich packed that day goes directly to local families facing hunger this summer, because when school lets out, childhood hunger spikes,” Tango Charities posted on Facebook.
Tango Charities’ mission is to feed, educate and empower communities by giving out healthful food. It has donated 7 million meals since it was established in 2020, according to Tango Charities’ website.
Attending the Guinness World Record attempt is free, and volunteers are still needed. Kids 17 and under are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Volunteers are required to RSVP.
Doors open at 8 a.m. June 13, 2026 and sandwich-making starts at 9 a.m. at Globe Life Field in Arlington. The Guinness attempt runs from 9:20 to 10:30 a.m.
