The Plano tournament funds programs that empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities

My Possibilities (MP), a Plano-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), raised more than $99,000 during its 17th Annual HIPster Golf Classic, held Oct. 21 at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in McKinney.

Presented by Younger Partners, the event brought together business leaders, community members and longtime supporters for a day of golf, camaraderie and purpose. Proceeds will help fund MP’s continuing education and workforce development programs designed to support what the organization calls “Hugely Important People,” or HIPsters.

A Day On The Course For A Cause

“For 17 years, the HIPster Golf Classic has been more than just a tournament. It has been a celebration of friendship, inclusion and opportunity,” said Tod Marvin, CEO of My Possibilities, in an official statement. “The generosity of our sponsors and golfers fuels possibilities for our HIPsters every day.”

Players competed in a mix of friendly challenges, including Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin contests, with Fairway Partners LLC earning the title of Grand Champions for the second consecutive year.

The tournament also featured a special appearance from professional golfer Angela Aung, a former Myanmar National Team member whose standout career includes a top-four finish on the Women’s All Pro Tour.
