A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a southeast Dallas homicide after turning himself in with U.S Marshals.

Montray Bynum, 42, is in the Dallas County jail facing a murder charge in the fatal shooting over the weekend.

The victim was identified as 41-year-old Steven Baisy.

Officers were called to the scene near the intersection of Elam Road and North Jim Miller Road about 6 p.m. Sunday, Dallas Police said in a news release.

An initial investigation revealed Baisy was shot by someone he knew, the release said.

Dallas Fire-Rescue took Baisy to a local hospital, where doctors later pronounced him dead.

Bynum is being held without bond, according to Dallas County jail records.
