Editor’s note: The featured pet may be adopted by the time you reach out, but there are always many more waiting to meet you through the Humane Society of North Texas.

At the Humane Society of North Texas, adoption is about changing lives, one match at a time. Learn more about adoptions at HSNT’s Fort Worth and Keller locations, or at off-site adoption events held six days a week at HSNT.org.

At the Humane Society of North Texas, every adoption tells a story of hope. Thousands of pets have already found their forever homes this year, and HSNT isn’t slowing down. As shelters across North Texas face overcrowding, HSNT continues to partner with others to provide relief and serve as a lifeline for pets — and their people — in need.

This week, two special faces — Carnelian and Louie — are ready to join that success story.

Carnelian, a striking calico tabby cat with bright amber eyes, carries herself with quiet confidence. She’s affectionate but independent, perfectly content to perch by a window and watch the world go by until she’s ready for a few soft head scratches. For adopters seeking a companion who brings warmth and a touch of entertainment to their days, Carnelian is waiting to meet you.

Louie, a cheerful mixed-breed poodle, is the picture of optimism. With a happy grin and a tail that never stops wagging, he greets everyone as a friend. Louie loves walks, belly rubs and the kind of playtime that ends with laughter and a nap at your feet. He’s loyal, good-natured and eager to be part of a family that matches his enthusiasm for life.

Carnelian and Louie are just two of the many pets waiting at HSNT’s Fort Worth adoption center. Each adoption not only gives a pet a home but also opens space for another animal in need — a cycle of compassion that keeps North Texas moving forward together.
