Former business owner on trial for theft from Lubbock dealership

  • May 6, 2026

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A Lubbock jury will decide whether a former business owner stole more than $150,000 from a car dealership.

Joshua Weston is accused of second-degree theft. He owned a partial stake in Adobe Auto Sales before the business went south and he resigned from the company.

Prosecutors say he went to the bank and pulled out money from the company accounts that he didn’t have a right to.

Weston’s defense attorneys insist this is a civil matter and not one for a criminal jury.

If convicted of the theft charges, Weston faces two to 20 years in prison.
