EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Residents and visitors are invited to step back in time during the upcoming Mission Trail Tour in El Paso County, a cultural event celebrating the region’s rich history and architectural heritage.

Scheduled for Saturday, May 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the event will begin at the Mission Valley Visitor Center, located at 9065 Alameda Avenue.

Organizers are encouraging participants to register in advance for the guided experience, which highlights the historic missions that have shaped the identity of the El Paso region.

The Mission Trail is known for its centuries-old churches, unique adobe architecture, and deep ties to the area’s Spanish colonial past.

The promotional material features an image of a traditional mission structure, with its iconic white façade, arched bell tower, and cross-topped roof set against a vivid blue sky—an enduring symbol of the region’s cultural and spiritual legacy.

Hosted in part by local tourism and county organizations, the event aims to both educate and engage the community while boosting appreciation for El Paso’s historical landmarks.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the missions’ origins, their role in the development of the area, and ongoing preservation efforts.

For more information or to register, interested individuals can contact event organizers via email at ochoa@destinationelpaso.com

The Mission Trail Tour is part of a broader initiative to promote cultural tourism in El Paso, inviting both locals and tourists to rediscover the stories that define the borderland region.
