VINTON, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Three people were arrested on drug charges Monday– including two alleged gang members– after a dramatic pursuit in a stolen car near Vinton.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Jose Alonzo Zubia Jr., 27, Moises Guerrero, 44, and Charlene McCallister, 36, were arrested Monday after a traffic stop regarding a stolen vehicle, which turned into a high-speed pursuit and ended at a home where drugs were discovered.

TX DPS said it all started when special agents from the DPS Criminal Investigations Division assigned to Operation Lone Star, with the help of DPS troopers, tried to pull over a stolen 2020 Ford Fusion near Vinton.

DPS alleges the driver refused, leading the agents on a chase.

Ultimately, the driver and the passenger ditched the car and fled on foot near Zinn Road and Del Ava Drive in Westway.

According to DPS, the agents and the troopers got help from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, and found and arrested Zubia Jr. (the alleged driver) and Guerrero (the alleged passenger) at a home on Zinn Road.

Then, after a search of the home, DPS said a third suspect, McCallister, was arrested after bags of “suspected” fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine were allegedly found.

Also, investigators said they determined that at one point, when Zubia Jr. was reportedly hiding, he allegedly broke into a home and stole clothes to disguise himself and avoid getting caught.

DPS said both Zubia Jr. and Guerrero are alleged Chuco Tango gang members, adding that Zubia Jr. was out on bond at the time for an “unauthorized use of a motor vehicle” charge from August 2025, while Guerrero was out on parole for two drug convictions.

Guerrero charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and parole violation – bond: $60,000.
