EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A man accused of owing tens of thousands of dollars in child support was arrested in El Paso after deputies tracked him down during a surveillance operation in Central El Paso.
On Thursday deputies with the El Paso County Constable’s Office Precinct 3, under the leadership of Constable Hector Bernal, arrested 37-year-old Antonio Villa on a warrant for criminal non-support.
Villa’s warrant had been active since March 12, 2026, and he had previously avoided multiple attempts by law enforcement to take him into custody, officials said.
After receiving a tip from the Attorney General’s office, a Precinct 3 sergeant conducted surveillance in the 200 block of Schwabe.
During the operation, Villa was seen getting into and driving away in a newer model SUV.
Officials said deputies stopped the vehicle after Villa committed a stop sign violation, then identified him and took him into custody.
Villa currently owes $24,000 in child support arrears, according to the Constable’s Office.
Villa posted a $2,500 cash bond and was released shortly afterward.
“Our office is working in close partnership with the Texas Attorney General’s Child Support Division to ensure these warrants are executed,” said Constable Bernal. “It is vital that individuals meet their legal obligations to support their children.”
Anyone with information regarding individuals wanted for outstanding warrants is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 915-544-TIPS or the El Paso County Constable Precinct 3 Office at 915-273-3590.
