LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A cool day for most this afternoon with high temperatures stuck in the 60s and lower 70s across the board. Mother’s Day is around the corner and the good news is we’re eyeing a gorgeous and warmer weekend ahead!

Our northern counties will be approaching the freezing mark overnight, leading to a late season frost advisory for some(Dylan Smith)
A chilly night for many is coming our way. A Frost Advisory has been issued for our northwestern counties overnight as low temps will approach the mid 30s for some.

Calm winds and clear skies will create conditions ripe for radiational cooling.
THURSDAY
A beautiful day is in store! High temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 70s, plenty of sunshine and winds remain fairly light as well.

Mother’s day is just a handful of days away and the good news is, we’re eyeing a warmer pattern setting up as we approach the weekend.
We’re in for a substantial warm up heading into Mother’s Day weekend(Dylan Smith)
High temperatures will continue to climb into the 80s by Friday, 90s by Saturday with another, weaker cold front dropping us to around 80 for Sunday (Mother’s Day) afternoon. It is looking like it’ll be a windy Sunday however.
