Champion barrel racer Sissy Winn faces excitement and nerves in Buc Days finals, just days before her wedding, energizing fans at Rodeo Corpus Christi.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Buc Days 2026 is heading into its final weekend, and the pressure is on inside the rodeo arena.
Multi-time champion barrel racer Sissy Winn is currently sitting in first place ahead of Saturday night’s finals at Rodeo Corpus Christi. The hometown rodeo star returned to compete in front of a South Texas crowd, drawing excitement from fans packing the arena during one of Buc Days’ biggest events.
“There’s nothing like the Buc Days Rodeo for me — feeling the crowd, feeling the fans, knowing I’m from Chapman Ranch,” Winn said. “Just hearing all of South Texas cheering me on, it really matters. As I turn that third barrel and running home, there’s nothing like it.”

But Winn is battling more than just finals nerves. She is set to be married in less than 10 days.
“I’m more nervous about the wedding part than the rodeo,” Winn said. “I’m super excited about what I do — I compete in rodeos all year long, so I know what I’m doing. But wedding day in 10 days, I’m super excited about that too.”
Finals for Rodeo Corpus Christi are scheduled for Saturday night as Buc Days festivities continue along the Corpus Christi bayfront.
