The team said the new uniform “represents a bold celebration of Dallas, the evolution of the franchise, and the rich history of women’s basketball in the city.”
“Dallas” is featured prominently across the front of the royal blue uniform in script lettering. The font pays homage to the Dallas Diamonds, a professional women’s team that competed in the Women’s Professional Basketball League (WBL) and Women’s American Basketball Association (WABA) in the late 1970s and 1980s. There is also a diamond detail etched in the “Wings” type on the shorts.
The royal blue is also a nod to the Wings’ early years in North Texas. The Wings haven’t worn jerseys featuring the royal blue since 2017.
Several design aspects represent elements of the Dallas skyline. The crisscross pattern running down the jersey and shorts is modeled after the framework of Reunion Tower.
After debuting the jersey in the season opener, the Wings will also wear their Rebel Edition jersey in the home opener against the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday.
