After a night to forget, Justin Foscue now has a moment he’ll remember forever.
The former Rangers‘ first-round pick hit his first career home run off the Cubs’ Edward Cabrera in the bottom of the fifth inning of Saturday’s game at Globe Life Field. Foscue, fillng in at first base tonight for a slumping Jake Burger, made up for a defensive miscue playing second base on Friday, where he collided with shortstop Corey Seager trying to field a ground ball.
The former top prospect hasn’t had the easiest road so far in his Major League career. Since his first called up from Triple-A Round Rock in 2024, he’d only had 56 at bats, struggled to find consistent playing time. Brought up again following an injury to Josh Smith, however, Foscue is trying to make the most of the opportunity to play for Skip Schumaker.
