The main hazards with the storms would be damaging wind gusts (possibly greater than 75 mph), large hail and pockets of heavy rainfall that could total up to 4 inches. The main line of storms could move into the northern counties by 6 p.m. This includes Fredericksburg, Llano, Kerrville, Georgetown and Rocksprings.
For the San Antonio area, the line of storms will move in around 8 p.m. on Sunday and will likely be the most severe from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Monday. The San Antonio area includes metro San Antonio, New Braunfels, Hondo, Pleasanton and the surrounding cities in and around Austin.
If you’re worried about driving in the rain on Monday morning, don’t worry. The storms and threats will last until about 4 a.m. Monday, according to the NWS. The rain will likely be fully out of the area by sunrise on Monday.
Ahead of the front today, mainly dry and warm conditions are forecast for Sunday morning and afternoon. A slight cool-down is expected Monday after the storms, then another warming trend begins, with dry weather for most of the week, according to the NWS.
