AUSTIN (KXAN) — No. 4 Texas avoided a sweep Sunday, picking up a 13-6 win over Tennessee in Southeastern Conference baseball action at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Longhorns first baseman Casey Borba launched a pair of home runs, including a grand slam in the sixth inning, to fuel the big day. He hit a solo homer in the first inning, immediately after Adrian Rodriguez crushed a 3-run homer. Borba drove in six runs on the day, adding a sacrifice fly in the third.

Anthony Pack Jr. hit one out of the park in the third, and Temo Becerra drove in a run with a single in the sixth to help set up Borba’s big blast to blow the game open.
Ruger Riojas started the game on the mound for Texas, swapping start days with Luke Harrison. He allowed a first-inning grand slam to Reese Chapman, but settled in after that and kept the Volunteers off the scoreboard for the rest of his 4-inning outing. Haiden Leffew earned the win in relief, eating up three innings with five strikeouts and allowing one hit. He struck out half of the batters he faced, throwing 40 pitches with 29 for strikes.
Chapman hit a pair of homers for the Vols, accounting for all six of their runs.
Rodriguez had three hits, while Borba, Becerra and Pack each had two. Texas outhit Tennessee 10-7.

Texas (37-12, 16-10 SEC) plays its last regular season series at UFCU Disch-Falk Field against Missouri starting Friday. The SEC baseball tournament begins May 19 in Hoover, Alabama.
