EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso Community College will send nearly 2,400 graduates across the stage next week during its 2026 Spring Commencement ceremonies.
EPCC will hold three commencements at 9 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m. on Monday, May 18, at the Don Haskins Center on the University of Texas at El Paso campus.
A total of 2,398 graduates are expected to participate, including 948 students in dual credit, Early College High School, and P-TECH programs.
The 9 a.m. ceremony will recognize graduates earning an Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Science and Certificate of Completion.
The 1 p.m. ceremony will include Associate of Arts graduates, excluding Multidisciplinary Studies, as well as Associate of Arts in Teaching graduates.
The 5 p.m. ceremony will be for Associate of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies graduates.
Claudia Aguirre, chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Board of Directors, will serve as the commencement speaker. Aguirre is also president and CEO of BakerRipley, a nonprofit organization that focuses on issues in the Houston area through programs in education, workforce development, immigration, and citizenship services.
EPCC President Dr. William Serrata will serve as master of ceremonies.
Meanwhile, EPCC’s Nursing Program will recognize 81 new graduates during its annual Associate Degree of Nursing pinning ceremony on Thursday, May 14, at the EPCC Administrative Services Center Auditorium.
The ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Administrative Services Center, Building A Auditorium, 9050 Viscount Blvd., El Paso, TX 79925.
Among the 81 graduates being celebrated, 21 are graduating from the transitions program, which moves licensed vocational nurses to registered nurse status.
Assistant Professor Daniel Parada was selected by students as the faculty keynote speaker. Student Nurses Association President Laura Perez will serve as the student speaker.
The ceremony will also include a presentation of the Daisy Award to an ADN faculty member and a student.
