EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department invites families to celebrate Kids to Parks Day on Saturday, May 16.
Kids to Parks Day is a national day of outdoor play celebrated every summer.
The free, family-friendly event will offer a variety of outdoor and educational activities for children of all ages, including flag-tag, geocaching, sack races, jumping balloons, live entertainment, and more, according to city officials.
Organized by the non-profit, National Park Trust, the day is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts, fostering park stewardship, and encouraging engagement with STEM, history, and the nation’s parks.
The Kids to Parks Day event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lomaland Park, located at 715 Lomita Drive.
“Kids to Parks Day is a wonderful opportunity to connect families with the outdoors while encouraging healthy, active lifestyles,” said Parks and Recreation Department Director Pablo Caballero. “We look forward to creating a fun and welcoming space where children can play, explore, and make lasting memories.”
Here is a list of scheduled performances:
9 a.m.: DJ Luisa Houseworks
10 a.m.: YWLA All Girls Folklorico
12 p.m.: Zumba Dance Kids
12:30 p.m.: Mariachi St. Joseph
