EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A man from New Mexico was arrested last month after police said he broke into an El Paso home through a window and assaulted a woman who lived there.
Officers responded at 4:50 a.m. April 29, a report of a burglary of a habitation in progress in the 1500 block of Lomaland.
Police said they found Tristan Joel Coriz, 24, inside the residence when they arrived.
Investigators determined the victim, a 20-year-old woman from El Paso, and her significant other were asleep when they were awakened by Coriz, who had unlawfully entered the home and assaulted the victim.
Police said Coriz gained entry through a window.
Coriz was taken into custody without incident and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
He was charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony, with a bond set at $150,000, and burglary of habitation, with a bond set at $50,000.
