Del Mar College celebrates new EMS and paramedic graduates at pinning ceremony

Del Mar College honored EMS and paramedic students at a pinning ceremony, marking the completion of months of training and their readiness to serve.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A new class of EMS and paramedic students was officially recognized tonight at Del Mar College during a pinning ceremony marking the completion of their training.

The ceremony honored students who have spent months, and in some cases years, preparing for careers in emergency medical services. Family members, instructors and supporters gathered to celebrate the milestone.

The pinning ceremony is a tradition in health sciences programs, symbolizing both achievement and the transition into professional practice.

Officials said the graduates are now prepared to serve Corpus Christi and surrounding communities in emergency situations.

“The reality is, we serve all of Corpus Christi and the area really,” one instructor said. “We’re very confident that the finished product we’re sending out there is ready to go and ready to care and provide definitive care for a lot of folks out there.”

For students, the event represented the end of a long and challenging journey.

“We came a long way, trials and tribulations, I would say,” one graduate said. “But we’re here, so we made it.”

With their training complete, graduates say they are ready to begin careers in emergency medicine and give back to the communities that supported them.
