COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) — The Texas A&M football program has canceled a 2027 nonconference game against New Mexico, athletic director Trev Alberts confirmed to KBTX.
A&M exercised its right to terminate the game contract without financial penalty, Alberts said.
News of the cancellation was first reported by Alex Miller of The Eagle.
A&M currently has 11 games on its 2027 slate, including nonconference matchups at Arizona State and against Texas State at Kyle Field. Paired with a nine-game Southeastern Conference schedule, which moved from eight games beginning in 2026, A&M will need to replace the New Mexico matchup to reach 12-games.
The Lobos announced a 2027 game at Texas Tech Tuesday, which will fill the vacancy left by the A&M cancellation.
