As “Beverly Hills, 90210” celebrates its 35th anniversary, Brian Austin Green is reflecting on the lasting impact of his late co-star Luke Perry, who passed away in March 2019 after suffering a stroke.

“What’s crazy is he was my age now when he passed. He was 52,” Green told our entertainment reporter Courtney Tezeno.

Brian and Luke, who famously played David Silver and Dylan McKay on the hit 1990s series, shared a bond that went far beyond the screen.

“I get for fans it was the passing of a character,” Green admitted. “Personally, he was a brother to me and he was a family member to everyone on set. So we all have these amazing memories just of him as a human being.”

Among Green’s favorite memories are the times they sang together, traveled, and texted each other late at night just as friends.

“Those are the moments where you mourn the loss of never having that again, but you also cherish the memory of having had it,” Green revealed. “He was a really special individual. I miss him daily, and I think about him often.”

Even years after Luke’s passing, Green still feels a deep connection to his friend, describing him as a small “voice in my head” guiding him through life’s decisions.

“I feel him constantly he’s on my shoulder as things happen,” Green shared. “He’s kind of that conscience in my head where I pause and think, ‘Wait, how would Luke feel in this moment?’ He made such a lasting impression on me.”

“I can still ask him, and he’s still here,” Green concluded, reflecting on the enduring impact of his late friend and co-star.

In a lighter moment, when asked which cast member had the best ’90s hair, Green didn’t hesitate.

“Luke, for sure,” he said. “It was this high — literally, I’m holding my hand above the camera because it was that high. And then the sideburns came down to here. He killed it. He and Jason [Priestley] were battling it out, but Luke was the clear winner of the hair.”

On Oct. 20, all 10 seasons and a complete series bundle of “Beverly Hills, 90210” debuted on digital in 4K UHD.
