The UIL State Track and Field Meet is this week in Austin. The American-Statesman has 10 athletes to watch Thursday through Saturday at Mike Myers Stadium. It begins with Classes 4A and 3A on Thursday and showcases Classes 5A and 2A on Friday. Class 6A student-athletes will take the track on Saturday. Here are 10 athletes to watch this week.
Addyson Bristow, Canyon: Bound for Oklahoma State, Bristow she holds state records in the 800 and 1,600 meters in Class 4A. She has won the 4A state championship in cross country four times.

Eva Cragnolino, LASA: Competing in her final high school meet, Cragnolino is a double threat to medal at state. Bound for the University of Washington, she ranks first in the 5A girls 1,600 meters and second in the girls 5A 3,200.
Madison Cuplin, Marble Falls: The junior triple jumper ranks No. 2 in the state in 4A with a leap of 39 feet, 7.75 inches. But she’s in striking distance of Freeport Brazosport senior Nalia White’s 40-06.
Jett Harrison, Liberty Hill: In what promises to be an event determined by inches, Harrison enters state ranked second in the boys shot put with a throw of 64 feet, 7.25 inches. That is two inches shorter than Kerrville’s Jackson Kerth, who qualified at 64-9.25.

Louis Hickman, Jr., LBJ: The Jaguar senior ran his fastest 100 meters (10.4 seconds) while competing in the Texas Relays in April. He will run the 100 meters and in two relay races at the 4A portion of the meet.

Colby Huntress, Anderson: The future Texas Longhorn is the runner to beat in the 5A boys 800 and 1,600 meters. He has the fastest qualifying times in both events. In the fall he was crowned the state’s cross country champion.

Andrew Jones, Klein Collins: The senior sprinter returns to Myers Stadium after winning gold medals in the 110 hurdes and 300 hurdles last year. He ranks No. 1 in both events this years.

Dillon Mitchell, Sheldon King: In the meet’s glamour event, Mitchell has the fastest entry time in the 100 meters at 10.13 seconds. Charvis Tubbs of Humble, though, his right on his heels at 10.24 seconds.
Morgan Nelsen, Hendrickson: She figures to have a tussle with Cragnolino in the 5A girls 1,600 and 3,200 meters. She enters state ranked first in the 3,200, second in the 1,600.

Marianne Zorilla, Vista Ridge: The Tarleton State-bound senior ranks No. 2 in the state in the 6A girls pole vault, clearing 12 feet, 6 inches at regionals. She is six inches behind senior Brooklybn Nalley of Rockwall-Heath.
