EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — An El Paso rock band is putting the finishing touches on a new music video, working with two local Grammy winners, and is eager to share with their fans their new sound.
The Roulettes– made up of Juan Flores, vocalist and guitarist; Junior Sabbath, lead guitarist; Frankie Orona, bassist; and Sergio, drummer– said they are filming a music video for the acoustic version of their song “Take a Little More,” working with recent Grammy winners, Roger Argenis and Gabriel Esparza.

“It’s an amazing experience,” Juan said, adding that the collaboration makes them feel like they are “getting up in the game” and that they “just can’t wait to share this with everyone out there.”
Described as a hard/alternative rock band, The Roulettes is stepping out of their comfort zone with this new song.
“’Take a Little More’ is one of those songs that we wrote in a different mindset, specifically for working with Roger, not so much with our own rock mentality,” Junior said.

When asked what they want people to feel when they hear their music, the band said it wants listeners to enjoy “the melodies, the rhythm,” and the lyrics.
I always write it very vague, very open to interpretation,” Juan said. “It is our songs, but we want people to make it their own songs and make it seem like what it means to them.”
The group said its members originally met as a cover band and decided to start writing music about three years ago.
Junior explained they began with their first single, “Scavenger,” which already has a music video, and then “sort of snowballed into wanting to create more music,” developing what they described as their own sound while giving each member freedom to shape it.
The Roulettes said El Paso has “a lot of talent” and “a lot of good rock bands,” calling the competition “pretty hard out there.”
The band said that over the last decade, “the quality of our sound has grown,” and that being recognized locally feels good, even if it is “very nerve-wracking,” because it pushes them to challenge themselves.
The band said its music reflects who its members are and that as they advance in life and connect with fans, they bring those emotions into their writing process, evolving both technically and in the band’s direction.
The Roulettes are inviting people to see them at the Cool Canyon Nights Music Series, where they will be performing on Thursday, July 2.
