FORT WORTH, Texas — The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning.
On May 10, 2026, at approximately 5:45 a.m., officers from the East Division responded to a call regarding a shooting in the 4500 block of Miller Avenue. Upon arrival, officers and the Fort Worth Fire Department provided medical aid at the scene. Preliminary information indicates that a security guard, working after hours, crossed the street to a local business and engaged in a confrontation with an individual. The suspect shot the security guard, who sustained a fatal injury and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.
The suspect also shot a second adult female, who suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect(s) fled the scene, and homicide detectives were notified and responded to the location as per protocol. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the manner, cause of death, and identity of the deceased.
