LUBBOCK, Texas (KJTV) – (News release from the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra)
The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra is working to help children in our area develop an interest in music. Currently, we are raising awareness among our rural school districts on the benefits of exposure to music and the collaborative spirit of being a part of an instrumental ensemble. LSO Maestro David Cho is personally visiting as many South Plains schools as possible through May to accomplish this mission.
The arts community in Lubbock has become even more enriched in recent years with the opening of The Buddy Holly Hall. The venue provides weekly opportunities to the community to experience the talent of our area’s most skilled musical performers. Like any other industry, it’s important to continue supplementing the orchestra with the artistry of new generations to ensure the strength and growth of this valuable Lubbock asset.
As the music director of the LSO, Mr. Cho enriches both the lives of area students with the introduction of musical possibilities and the lives of those in our community with the development of these abilities. School districts are welcome to reach out to him to schedule these visits.
