ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Their last meeting was in 2012. The University of New Mexico and Texas Tech are getting together on a football field again. The Lobos will travel to Lubbock to meet the Red Raiders September 18, 2027. It will be the 46th overall meeting between the two schools. The Red Raiders have 36 wins in the series while the Lobos have six. They also tied twice.

The last time the Lobos beat the Red Raiders was in Albuquerque in 2004. Wes Zunker converted a field goal in the closing seconds of the game to give the Lobos a 27-24 victory. In Lubbock, the Red Raiders are 23-2 against the Lobos, winning the last game in 2012, 49-14. The two teams played nine times from 1981 through 1994, with all nine games decided by one score, with the Lobos winning three.
