NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 are amplifying Asian American and Pacific Islander voices with a spectacular event in the City of Garland. The 4th Annual Asian American Heritage Festival, benefitting the Vietnam United, will be held in downtown Garland Square on Saturday, May 16, from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The event will showcase the culture of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities with colorful performances, various craft vendors, delicious food, and more! NBC 5’s Alanna Quillen will proudly emcee this family-friendly event.
The festival returns for its fourth year in the heart of Garland. For the foodies, Ube Land, a food activation and one of the festival’s most popular draws, returns. Ube Land, named after the purple yam that originates from the Philippines, offers ube BBQ bao, ube chips, ube eggrolls and more! Walk around the square where you’ll see various markets and vendors to shop from. Take a moment to relax and enjoy some music and performances, such as the Colorful World Parade and the lion dance!
