LOGANSPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A man from Shelby County, Texas has been arrested and booked into jail after deputies say they found methamphetamine in his vehice during a routine traffic stop.
On May 14, 2026, deputies from the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office (DPSO) pulled over Daniel Guin, 34, on US Highway 84 in Logansport. They said they searched the car after their K-9 officer alerted them to drugs in the vehicle.

According to DPSO, investigators found approximately 6.3 ounces of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a gun.
Guin was arrested and booked into the DPSO Detention Center on the following charges:
Possession of Schedule II (Meth) with Intent to Distribute
Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of CDS
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
