LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Lubbock Matadors will kick off the 2026 season Saturday afternoon in Fort Worth, facing the Vaqueros.
Head Coach David Ormiston is returning to lead the Matadors. Lubbock’s team has moved up to a new league, USL 2.
Hear from Ormiston in the video above. He previously coached Brazos Valley Cavalry FC in USL 2. And Ormiston is a back-to-back Lone Star Conference Champion with two different clubs, and a back to back National Coach of the Year nominee in the NPSL.
Saturday’s game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Doskocil Stadium in Fort Worth. Two Docs in Lubbock will be hosting a watch party.
