After leading the entire game, Texas A&M surrendered two runs in the top of the seventh, falling behind 4–3 heading into the bottom of the frame. Arizona State ace Kenzie Brown, one of ASU’s 17 Golden Ticket winners, showed exactly why she earned that honor, refusing to allow a single hit in the final inning to lock down the win.
A&M opened in a strong position, striking first on a two‑run home run from Micaela Wark. ASU answered quickly, tying the game in the top of the second, and from that point forward, the matchup turned into a defensive grind. The Aggies managed to scratch across a run in the bottom of the fourth to reclaim a 3–2 lead, a margin that held all the way to the final inning.
Arizona State began its seventh‑inning rally with a leadoff double, then capitalized on a pair of free passes and timely hitting to flip the score and take a 4–3 advantage. A&M couldn’t generate a response in the bottom half, ultimately falling and dropping into the losers’ bracket, where they will face the winner of McNeese and UConn at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday night.
