EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/ CBS4) — Drivers on Interstate 10 in far West Texas should plan for a lengthy weekend closure as crews continue work on the I-10 Widening Phase 2 project.

I-10 westbound between Los Mochis and Antonio will be fully closed from 3 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 16, through Sunday, May 17, as part of a 33-hour closure. During the shutdown, crews will be working on a westbound traffic switch.

A detour will route traffic off I-10 at Los Mochis. Drivers will proceed onto North Desert through the intersections at Vinton and Anthony, then re-enter I-10 westbound after Anthony.

Once the closure lifts, westbound traffic will be shifted to the inside travel lanes. Exit 0 and the Vinton entrance ramp will be closed for westbound traffic.
