The massive, 97-acre resort, specifically designed and developed for families with young children, was first announced in January 2023. Buzz around the theme park has been building since then. In the Google reviews, Punkie TheGreat wrote that the park is going to be a “fantastically amazing park designed just for kids.”

“I can’t give any secrets away, but know your children will be pleasantly surprised to see what’s in store with some of their favorite characters,” the review stated on Tuesday, May 12.

On the same day, Krishna wrote that they are eagerly awaiting its opening so they can take their grandchildren. And, more reviews said the same. A month ago, Simonster wrote, “well it’s not open but it looks cool so far. i think it really brightens up the frisco skyline!”

Universal Kids Resort has not released an opening timeline. The company told MySA on Thursday, May 7, the following:

“We’re thrilled to be bringing this all-new resort designed for kids and their grown-ups to life in Frisco, Texas, with an opening planned for 2026.”

However, NBC 5 reported in June 2025 that the resort could open sometime between April and June in 2026.
