TYLER, Texas (KETK) – The 93rd annual Texas Rose Festival Court members were recognized at this year’s Rose Sunday as the Tyler Municipal Rose Garden kicks off their rose blooming season.

93rd Annual Texas Rose Festival theme, Rose Queen announced

From late April until the first frost, more than 15,000 rose bushes will bloom at the Tyler Municipal Rose Garden and on Sunday the garden hosted this year’s Texas Rose Festival Court and the Rose Queen Claire Ann Malone, a relative of many former Rose Queens.

“It’s really special just to get to be Rose Queen after my mom and my cousins and it’s really cool to get to represent our city and just be a good representation of Tyler and the city that I love so much and that I grew up in,” Malone said.

Rose Sunday also saw the awarding of this year’s Texas Rose Festival Scholarship. The event was just one more step on the path towards this year’s Texas Rose Festival which will be held in Tyler from Oct. 15 through Oct. 18.
