CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (KFDA) – The Sod Poodles rallied in the ninth inning to defeat Corpus Christi 5-3 on Sunday.
Amarillo trailed 3-1 entering the ninth inning before mounting a comeback.
Druw Jones dropped down a sacrifice bunt, but the throw got away from the pitcher, allowing Junior Franco to score. Jones hustled into second and Amarillo cut the deficit to 3-2.
Jansel Luis lifted one out to center and Jean Walters took off from third, sprinting to the plate to tie the game at 3-3. Jones moved up to third with one out.
Manny Pena chopped one through the right side and Jones came around to score, giving Amarillo a 4-3 lead.
The Sod Poodles scored one more time in the ninth to win the series finale 5-3.
