A popular retail area in Dallas is getting some store names that local shoppers — and far beyond — can’t find right now.
A 161,000-square-foot mixed-use development under construction along Henderson Avenue will add several names that include firsts for the U.S. and North Texas, according to an announcement by Acadia Realty Trust and Ignite-Rebees.
The development is a key addition to the broader area around Henderson that’s a destination shopping and restaurant district for locals in North Texas. The new project spans a roughly quarter-mile stretch between Glencoe Street and McMillan Avenue. It features approximately 75,000 square feet of retail, about 12,000 square feet of restaurant space and around 74,000 square feet of office space, the announcement said.
The project remains on track for completion in the later part of the final quarter of this year, it said.
Two names that don’t have a store in the U.S. bring a Western heritage with Alberta Boot Co. and Cody & Sioux. Both list Canadian shops on their websites with a selection of boots, shirts and jeans and other items. Ariat, the California boot company that has a regional headquarters in Fort Worth, is set for the site as well.
Cami, a contemporary label that provides “elevated basics” for women, is set for the shopping center, and the New York brand is a first for the state. Guizio, another brand with New York ties, is also making its Texas debut with offerings from skirts and shoes to handbags.
Another new name in the state will be Jean Dousset, a fine jewelry house, along with Margaux, a luxury footwear and accessories brand. In addition, Sway Wellness, a concept offering hemp-derived products, is slated for the development.
The stores will join recently opened fashion retailer Rag & Bone, which will relocate from its current temporary location at 3010 N. Henderson to 2240 N. Henderson — along with Salt & Straw, the ice cream shop, that opened May 15, and PopUp Bagels, opening later this summer.
“These newest leases underscore the level of interest we’re seeing from premier culturally relevant retailers who recognize the uniqueness of this opportunity.” said Mark Masinter, managing partner and co-founder of Ignite-Rebees and chairman of Global Retail at Newmark, said in the announcement.
