AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) released new information on Monday in regards to the series of shootings that occurred in the city over the weekend.
According to a news release, APD said the 12 incidents were a mix of “random and targeted shootings” that injured four people and caused shelter-in-place orders.
“Some victims were known to the suspects, while other incidents appeared to occur without any known connection,” the release said.
Police also released the name of one suspect, 17-year-old Cristian Fajardo Mondragon, and released the ages of the other two suspects, 16 and 15 years old. Because of the ages of the two younger suspects, police said they were limited in what information they could release.
APD also released a timeline of the events, which started at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday when police received reports of a stolen firearm from a business on West Ben White Boulevard and ended at 3:23 p.m. on Sunday when two of the suspects were located and arrested in Manor. The third suspect was arrested Sunday night in Manor at a gas station.

In addition to the four people injured, five vehicles, four residences, two fire stations and three fire department vehicles were hit, police said. At least five vehicles were stolen along with the one firearm.
According to the update, formal charges are under review and are expected to include multiple counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault/motor vehicle, deadly conduct, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest and theft of a firearm, along with other related charges as investigators continue to review the evidence.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
