LUBBOCK, Texas (KTRE) – Former Lovelady Lady Lion Mihyia Davis set a new program record for stolen bases in Texas Tech’s 14-2 win over Ole Miss on Sunday to advance the Red Raiders to the Super Regionals.
Texas Tech beat Marist 10-3 on Friday and scored eight runs in the seventh inning to beat Ole Miss 10-9 on Saturday.
On Sunday, Davis started in center field and batted sixth. She went 3-for-3 with two RBI and three runs. In the third inning, Davis singled to left field, scoring Taylor Pannell. Later in the inning, Davis fouled out to left field, scoring Jasmyn Burns. Davis set a new program record with her 37th stolen base. In her Red Raider career, Davis has 64 stolen bases.
Texas Tech (55-6) heads to Gainesville, Florida, on Friday for a best-of-three series against the Florida Gators. The winner will advance to the Women’s College World Series.
