A permit filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on May 12 reveals plans for a House of Pies location at 160 West Bay Area Blvd. According to the project details, the estimated cost for the tenant build-out is $350,000 for a space that will span just under 4,000 square feet. Construction for House of Pies’ newest location is scheduled to begin next week and wrap up in mid-October. As always, don’t take that as an opening date.

Since serving its first slices in Houston more than 50 years ago, House of Pies has grown into one of the most iconic fixtures of the city’s food scene. The very first House of Pies, launched by IHOP founder Al Lapin Jr., actually opened in California in 1965. While it eventually expanded across the country, the chain’s last remaining locations are around the Houston area, including Cypress, Katy and The Woodlands.
