A Houston wing spot is closing its Midtown restaurant, but it won’t be gone for good. Four years after opening its brick-and-mortar at 401 Richmond Ave., Stuff’d Wings is going to focus entirely on its food truck and catering operations.
“This is NOT the end of STUFF’d Wings—it’s the next chapter,” Stuff’d Wings’ team announced on social media.
“Our STUFF’d Wings Food Truck has become the heart of our business, allowing us to serve more communities, churches, private events, festivals, and catering clients across Houston. Now with the incredible support from all of you, we’re expanding our mobile Food Truck experience and putting our energy into what’s working best … Thank you for continuing to support STUFF’d Wings as we grow in a new direction. Houston, we’re just getting started.”
Stuff’d Wings originally launched as a food truck in 2019, its menu made up of fried chicken wings stuffed with savory fillings. The Ion District, a technology park also in Midtown, tapped the Cajun cuisine concept to be one of its first food spots in 2022, the Houston Chronicle reported. Stuff’d added a second Pearland location in 2024, but it appears that location is no longer open.
This transition back to mobile and catering services comes just months after Stuff’d Wings temporarily closed its doors for a fall rebrand. Around that time, co-owner Jarrod Rector shared a video with followers noting that the business would be pivoting to be more strategic with menu items and operations.
“It’s been rough lately. The economy is down, inflation is up, labor is low. But good news: my team and I have decided to pivot,” Rector said. “We want to continue to support this community and be here for the city of Houston, but we really need your support.”
Stuff’d did not disclose when its last day of service would be. Chron has reached out to the restaurant and will update this story when we hear back.
