According to Schefter, Rice underwent a procedure in Dallas to remove loose debris in his right knee that was causing inflammation. That was the same knee Rice injured when he collided with quarterback Patrick Mahomes in September 2024. The receiver was initially feared to have a torn ACL, but he later learned that he needed an LCL repair.
Schefter added that Rice had no structural damage to his knee.
Rice was arrested and booked into jail Tuesday afternoon after he was accused of violating his probation. According to court documents, Rice tested positive for THC, a violation of his probation for charges related to a multi-car crash in Dallas more than two years ago. He has been ordered to serve 30 days in jail and is set to be released on June 16, according to the documents.
