App State earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament and finished one game better than Texas State in the conference standings, tied with South Alabama and Troy. The Mountaineers have an explosive offense, having scored the most runs in the Sun Belt. They hold a .312 overall batting average and .415 on-base percentage, both top of conference marks, in contrast to the Bobcats’ explosive offense.
Texas State is sending Wade Cooper to the mound for the start. He struggled against Marshall, allowing four runs in 2⅓ innings, but also held Arkansas State to two runs in a complete game in his prior outing.
