LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Police believe speeding and alcohol may be the cause of a fatal crash in central Lubbock Tuesday evening.
Just before 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a collision with injuries near 55th Drive and Salem Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found 23-year-old Isaiah Wilson with serious injuries. He was taken to UMC where he later died.
Crash investigators say it appears Wilson was traveling west at a high rate of speed on 55th Drive when he struck a curb. The vehicle continued southwest around a curve, before rolling multiple times.
Police say Wilson was ejected from the vehicle.
Both alcohol and speed are being investigated as contributing factors to the crash.
