EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Paradise is coming to the borderland this summer as Sun City Tiki transforms Downtown El Paso into a Polynesian-inspired celebration of music, cocktails, fire dancing, and island culture.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, August 8, at the El Paso Convention Center, promises to deliver an immersive tropical getaway without ever leaving the desert.

Billed as a “tropical escape right here in the desert,” Sun City Tiki will feature tiki cocktails, spirit and seltzer tastings, live music, hula lessons, marketplace vendors, and large-scale Polynesian performances throughout the evening. Organizers say the event is designed to combine the laid-back atmosphere of a Hawaiian luau with the energy of a summer nightlife festival.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a traditional lei welcome for guests before launching into a full entertainment lineup.

Highlights include the “Grand Island Showcase,” featuring Polynesian dance performances, followed by “Flames of Paradise,” a fire-dancing spectacle that organizers describe as one of the event’s signature moments. The night will also include a limbo competition, live music performances, and a late-night DJ set called “Tiki After Dark.”

Attendees will have access to multiple ticket options, including general admission and VIP packages.

The Paradise Pass (general admission) has a cost of $25The Virgin of the Islands (designer driver) has a cost of $15The Very Important Tiki (VIP admission) has a cost of $75
