Lightning Flashes in Austin Night Sky as Severe Storms Sweep Through Texas

Lightning flashed across the night sky over Austin on Tuesday, May 19, as severe thunderstorms moved through parts of Texas.

The National Weather Service (NWS) reported wind gusts up to 70 mph, along with periods of heavy rainfall.

Forecasters said showers would continue in some areas through Thursday morning, with isolated totals of 2 to 5 inches possible.
